Mega Man 1 was extra haard, mainly because of the lack of helping items and powers in comparison to the future games where the items could be abused a lot more. It was so much more skill and timing based. I totally forgot that the end of 1 ended with 2's callback! Clever! Having it be transitioning from one composer to another is crazy too! Honoring the other composer and game is such a cool approach. The Mega Man series as a whole has some of the most memorable and amazing compositions. You could do a whole channel based on all of the Mega Man games... Too many cool pieces of music!

Omg I love CT..granted I was idk how old when I played this game.. maybe 6? 7? But I was NOT a good gamer and after trudging through the game and being in a desolate part of the world to all of a suddent get teleported to the SKY and hear Corridors of Time.. this game really touched me emotionally in a place. The only gaming moment that came close to that was the ending cutscene of "Thou Must Live, Die, and Know" from FFXIV.

It absolutely did need to go this hard because it's Yasunori Mitsuda and old Squaresoft. At this point Super Famicom was becoming an old console, so they've put extra effort to assemble a "Dream Team" to make this game in the most awesome way possible. And they did.

Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross are very much the essence of what JRPG music is.

Undersea Palace is great. Actually they’re pretty much all great. Play the game!

I love Mazedude's "Island of Zeal" (Corridor of Time) on OC Remix (it's on YT). It's up there with bLiNd's "Blue Vision" (Aquatic Ambiance) from DKC.

I will always and forever recommend the Celeste soundtrack. Lena Raine did an outstanding job on it, and it's hard to pick just one track to represent the whole.

Some games or series you have already done I would LOVE to see you do "part 2". Maybe you could take a twitter poll on some of the soundtracks for games so we can get your direct reaction of other songs from some games/ movies/ artists etc.

The tone of the soundtrack is mostly melancholic because the game is about going through time to stop the end of the world. It's an amazingly and beautifully written jrpg, and definitely worth a play. There's a PC version too!

I get that it's a meme and all that but yes, it really DID need to go that hard and Chrono Cross goes even harder, IMHO

Chrono Trigger was a miracle. Every single piece of the production as good as its was possible to make it. The team defied the odds to create something more than art, something sublime, something legendary. And tragically much of the original project documents and materials are lost to time.

Yessssssss! A very good game with an amazing soundtrack. The various character themes are all really well paired with the feel of each character and their plot arcs. You definitely should do another one of these on Chrono Trigger songs if only for Robo's Theme.

"Peaceful Days" and "Wind Scene" ~ They both offer a kind of sound I could only liken to Joe Hisaishi/Studio Ghibli in sound, though held back by the SNES sound board. Now I'm off to see if there were ever orchestral performances of either song. If you ever do another video on The Chrono Trigger soundtrack, start it off with "Morning Sunlight" as a warm up lol.

I love how simple some of these melodies are, one of my favorites is how Magus' theme is literally as simple as walking down an E phrygian scale. it's so simple but Matsuda made it sound great. incredible work

Chrono Trigger is a game I played entirely because I heard the soundtrack and thought “a game with music this great must also be great” it turns on its also one of the greatest games of all time on top of that. I really like Guardia Millenial Fair and Peaceful Days

The main theme will always be an absolute favorite of mine, super guitar bros version sounds real nice too The end of time theme is another very nice one not covered here! You absolutely gotta check out boss battle too, the proggy rhythm breakdown sounds so good it's addictive. People who threw away their will to live is also often stuck in my head. I really recommend the original versions btw.
